When the Prayer Journal is installed, and you first attempt to use it, you will be prompted to install 
Catch Notes by This is a requirement to use the application. Catch Notes is a free, and feature rich, notes application with which the Prayer Journal integrates. If you sign up for the free account with, you can install Prayer Journal on all of your Android devices and they will all be kept in sync automatically. You will also be able to access your Prayer Journal entries from any computer with Internet access by using a browser and going directly to

The application consists of six categories of notes with an Add and New button for each. The Add button provides you with the ability to add a new journal entry for that category. The View button provides you with the ability to view all of the notes for that category. There is a large "View All Notes" button on the bottom that provides you with the ability to view all your notes for all categories.

Below is a brief description of each category of note:
  1. Bible Study Notes: Keep notes from your personal bible study or from group studies
  2. Bible Verses: Save your favorite bible verses and/or those you want to memorize
  3. Prayer Requests: Keep track of your prayer requests. This is very limited functionality. I recommend one note that contains all your prayer requests.
  4. Providential Circumstances: Note providential circumstances that happen in our life - things that seem to be too coincidental to be coincidences.
  5. Quiet Time with the Lord: Log the revelations as a result of your quiet time with the Lord
  6. Sermon Notes: Enter notes from the sermons you attend
